What is difference between a two-board machine and a three-board machine? Which is better?

Image
With development of material technology, application proportion of plastic parts on automobile bodies is increasing, such as automobile front/rear bumpers, instrument panels and door guards. Plastic parts also tend to be bigger and heavier. This has led to larger and larger clamping force of injection molding machine selected by related injection molding manufacturers. For injection molding machines over 2 000 t, most foreign manufacturers use two-platen injection molding machines (direct pressure mode clamping), while most domestic manufacturers use three-platen injection molding machines (crankshaft mode clamping). Two-platen injection molding machine Plastic injection molding machines are referred to as injection molding machines for short, and there are usually two types: screw type and plunger type. Screw-type injection molding machines of more than 2 000 tons mainly include injection device, mold clamping device, hydraulic transmission system and electrical control system. Inje

Difference between PA6 and PA66 in nylon family

Image
Nylon, a revolutionary material, was born 80 years ago and was invented by Dr. Wallace Carothers of DuPont in 1935. It is the earliest synthetic fiber. Afterwards, DuPont led development of materials science and applied nylon as an engineering polymer, enabling it to achieve exponential development. Emergence of nylon has given a new look to textiles. Its synthesis is a major breakthrough in synthetic fiber industry and a very important milestone in polymer chemistry.  Main varieties and representative companies of nylon family are shown in following table: Nylon category Typical characteristics Representative enterprise PA6 PA6 is a translucent or opaque milky white particle. It has characteristics of thermoplasticity, light weight, good toughness, chemical resistance and good durability. It is generally used in auto parts, mechanical parts, electronic and electrical products, engineering accessories and other products. BASF PA66 PA66 is formed by polycondensation of adipic acid and

Design of Hot Runner Mould for Connecting Rod Parts

Image
【Abstract】In order to improve injection efficiency and material utilization of connecting rod components, hot runner technology is introduced. Design process includes plastic part analysis, mold design and assembly drawing design. It mainly introduces determination of design plan, selection of mold base and selection of hot runner system. Design process adopts UG full 3D design, which helps to make mold structure intuitive, to find problems and avoid unnecessary errors. 1 Introduction Hot runner injection molding is an important development direction of traditional injection molding. Its biggest feature is that plastic in runner system will not solidify during production process, nor will it be removed from mold with plastic part. Simply put, nozzle of injection molding machine is directly extended to plastic part for waste-free production, thereby greatly improving material utilization rate; at the same time, process is shortened and production efficiency is improved. In mold design p

Analysis of common faults in hot runner system

Image
Compared with ordinary flow channel molds,  hot runner mould  have significant advantages such as saving time and materials, high efficiency, and stable quality. However, its wide application has been affected by their failure in use. With technological advancement of mold industry, hot runner mould has made great progress in flow channel melt temperature control, structural reliability, hot runner component design and manufacture, which makes hot runner technology regain people's attention and favor. First, residue at the gate is protruding or flowing, and surface appearance is poor. Main reason Gate structure selection is unreasonable, temperature control is improper, and there is a large residual pressure in the melt of flow channel after injection. Solution 1)  Improvement of gate structure . Usually length of gate is too long, which will leave a long gate material on the surface of plastic part. If gate diameter is too large, it will easily lead to phenomenon of

Weld Line defect analysis and troubleshooting

Image
What is weld line? Weld line, the most common of many defects in injection moulding products. Except for a few very simple injection molded parts, they occur on most injection molded parts (typically in the form of a line or V-groove), especially large complex items that require use of multi-gate molds and inserts. Weld line not only affects appearance quality of plastic parts, but also affects mechanical properties of plastic parts to varying degrees, such as impact strength, tensile strength, elongation at break, etc. In addition, welding marks also have a serious impact on the design of product and life of plastic parts, and therefore it should be avoided or improved as much as possible. Main reason for weld line is that molten plastic encounters in the cavity when insert, hole, flow rate is inconsistent, or area where filling flow is interrupted, confluence of multiple melts occurs; when gate injection is filled, materials cannot be completely blended.
